Theodore C. (Chaikin) Sorensen was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on May 8, 1928. He attended the University of Nebraska, where he received a B.S. degree in Law in 1949 and an LL.B. in 1951. Mr. Sorensen was admitted to the Nebraska bar in 1951, the New York bar in 1966, the District of Columbia bar in 1971, and to the U.S. Supreme Court. James Howard Meredith (born June 25, 1933) is an American civil rights activist, writer, political adviser, and United States Air Force veteran who became, in 1962, the first African-American student admitted to the racially segregated University of Mississippi after the intervention of the federal government.
